Workbench - Simulation : Heat Transfer
Duration : 2 days|
Cost : $1000|
Interface : Workbench
Prerequisites :
Although it is not our policy to deny students entry into a particular
class, we recommend the following prerequisites in order for you to get the most
out of this learning experience. For your own sake please ensure you have the
appropriate qualifications or equivalent experience.
What you will learn
Summary This class is a general introduction for using Simulation to perform a number of different types of heat transfer simulations. Some basic heat transfer theory is presented and then we will look at setting up, solving, and postprocessing thermal models of various sorts. Nonlinear thermal as well as transient thermal anslyses are covered. You will learn about several specific topics such as dealing with surface-surface radiation, conducting a phase change analysis, and utilizing the FLUID116 element for simple thermal/flow simulations. Finally, a workshop will give you some experience in transferring temperature data from a conjugate heat transfer analysis in CFX back into Simulation, as well as applying tabular boundary conditions. As with our other classes, there are a number of hands-on workshops which supplement the lecture material. Please note that although this class is taught in the Workbench interface, it makes heavy use of Commands objects.
