Workbench - Simulation : Rigid/Flexible Dynamics
Duration : 1 days| Cost : $500| Interface : Workbench
Prerequisites : Although it is not our policy to deny students entry into a particular class, we recommend the following prerequisites in order for you to get the most out of this learning experience. For your own sake please ensure you have the appropriate qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Basic engineering knowledge
  • Workbench - Simulation : Introduction
What you will learn
  • Difference between rigid and flexible bodies
  • How to utilize both rigid and flexible bodies in a dyanmic analysis
  • Setting up joints and springs
  • Solution controls and initial conditions for dynamic analyses
  • Postprocessing dynamic results with multiple results sets
  • Using probes to determine joint positions/forces/velocities
  • Explicit vs. implicit dynamic solutions
Summary

This class focuses on dynamic analyses within Workbench using the Rigid Dyanmics add-on module. This module allows you to conduct kinematic analyses using various joint types to connect rigid bodies together. You will learn about the differences between rigid and flexible bodies and how/when to use them in a dynamic analysis. Some explicit vs. implicit solver theory is presented as well. Available joint types and how to setup joints and springs is covered in detail as is postprocessing options. We also cover flexible dynamic analyses as well as rigid/flexible.
