This class teaches students the basics of using the ANSYS 'Classic' interface (also known as 'black window ANSYS', i.e. NOT Workbench) to conduct basic FEA analyses. It is intended for those just starting to learn ANSYS who anticipate using the Classic interface. It can also be useful for those who already know the Workbench interface but wish to understand some of what goes on behind the scenes when using Commands objects.
We will cover the entire FEA process from importing CAD geometry through postprocessing. Hands on workshops will supplement the lecture topics. Although we do not specifically cover it during class due to time constraints, the lecture and workshop materails you will recieve include an appendix that deals with creating geometry directly in ANSYS.
