Description

Workbench - DesignXplorer
Duration : 1 days| Cost : $500| Interface : Workbench
Prerequisites : Although it is not our policy to deny students entry into a particular class, we recommend the following prerequisites in order for you to get the most out of this learning experience. For your own sake please ensure you have the appropriate qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Basic engineering knowledge
  • Familiarity with DOE and Six-Sigma concepts is not necessary, but would be beneficial
  • Workbench - Simulation : Introduction
What you will learn
  • Using the DX Parameter Manager
  • Deterministic goal driven optimization
  • How to utilize response charts to determine your optimal design
  • Using Variational Technology to speed up optimizations
  • Designing for Six-Sigma with DX
  • Using DX to drive 3rd party applications
Summary

This one-day class teaches you how to optimize your designs using the DesignXplorer add-on module for ANSYS Workbench. DX automates the optimization process by taking a set of input parameters and using either Design of Experiments methodology, Variational Technology, or a Design For Six-Sigma process. Response surfaces and charts, trade-off plots, sensitivity charts, and probability tables will then allow you to home in on the optimal design for a given situation. DX can also be used as an optimization tool for any code that can be run in batch mode via text-based input/output files. In addition to learning the interface a number of hands-on exercises allow you to practice the techniques described in lectures.
