Legacy of Innovation meets Newly Named Tech Hub Region

SimuTech Headquarters Sits in Newly Named Tech Hub

Headquartered in Rochester, New York, SimuTech Group embodies the city’s rich history of technological advancements. Rochester’s legacy in innovation began in the 19th century with the emergence of the optics industry, earning it the nickname “Optics Valley.” This heritage laid the foundation for pioneers like George Eastman, whose pioneering work at Eastman Kodak revolutionized photography. Visionaries have shaped the landscape of technology for generations, and that tradition continues present day as the Buffalo-Rochester-Syracuse region was recently named a U.S. Department of Commerce Tech Hub. Referred to as the NY SMART I-Corridor, the upstate New York Tech Hub aims to regain leadership in semiconductor manufacturing.

The Biden-Harris Administration, through the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA), has launched the Tech Hubs program, designating 31 centers across the U.S. These hubs aim to drive regional innovation and job creation by bolstering a region’s capacity for technology development. This initiative is a component of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda, authorized by the CHIPS and Science Act enacted in August 2022. The designation signifies the region’s commitment to fortify their technology industries, resulting in job growth, enhanced competitiveness, and national security. These hubs will focus on industries like autonomous systems, quantum computing, biotechnology, and clean energy, reflecting the administration’s dedication to nationwide innovation and economic development.

Over time, Rochester’s industrial landscape has evolved, shifting focus from manufacturing to micro-technologies and precision engineering. SimuTech Group embraces this heritage wholeheartedly, providing comprehensive physical and mechanical testing services in addition to powerful simulation software and support.
