Our Roots
SimuTech Group began in 2000 when Ken Lally purchased STI Technologies (STI), a company located in Rochester, NY. At that time, STI’s business was centered on turbine blade failure analysis and engineering technology development and had a smaller focus on Ansys simulation software as an Ansys Channel Partner. As Ken assessed the core strengths of the business and future growth potential, he recognized our customers’ desire to improve their product development process by leveraging the capabilities of Ansys software simulation. The breadth of Ansys products continued to expand across physics disciplines, and Ken concluded that building a critical mass of support and consulting service engineers would help customers improve their products both immediately and well into the future. He identified several other North American Ansys Channel Partners and acquired the following companies over the next several years; JLR Engineering Solutions Co. (Seattle, WA), Ohio Computer Aided Engineering (Cleveland, OH), Advanced Engineering Technologies (Atlanta, GA), ROI Engineering (Toronto & Montreal, Canada), and Belcan Software Sales Group (Chicago, IL).
In 2008, SimuTech Group was formed to integrate these operations and scale the business to provide engineering expertise and customer support across the range of Ansys simulation capabilities. This integration made SimuTech Group the largest Ansys Channel Partner in North America. Since then, SimuTech Group has grown organically through further acquisition (Turbine Test Services, 2017; Boston Engineering assets, 2023) and increasingly broadened simulation capabilities as an Ansys Channel Partner. The Company achieved the highest level of recognition as an Ansys Channel Partner (Apex) and was recently recognized as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the Greater Rochester, NY area. With a headquarters in Rochester and multiple regional offices across the US and Canada, SimuTech employs a staff of 140+ professionals.
SimuTech Group is a privately-owned, family-owned, and woman-owned business, with Ken’s daughter, Katie Lally, now the majority Owner. As a family-owned and operated business, we treat all employees like ‘family’ and this is a core value of the company. From outstanding health benefits to ongoing employee training and development, SimuTech truly cares about and invests in all our employees.
