Ansys Explicit Dynamics STR (Structures)
Similar to Ansys Mechanical, Ansys Explicit STR simulates how structures react to loads. The capabilities of Mechanical are expanded by explicit STR to issues including substantial material deformation, short-duration severe loads, and material failure.
Explicit Solution Method
Geometries with complicated nonlinear contact can be handled by the explicit solution method. By the same token, avoided by the implicit solver in Ansys Mechanical.
With the same well-known graphical user interface (GUI) as Ansys Mechanical and other integrated analysis systems, it is an analysis system that is integrated into Ansys Workbench. You can produce results without putting in a lot of learning work if you already use Ansys Mechanical because switching to Explicit STR is remarkably quick.
Key Characteristics of Explicit STR
